Sorry I haven't uploaded any drawings or anything of that nature lately (I blame school), but I wanted to take a moment and address a certain question, and that is, why does society frown upon crying so much? Crying is simply a physical expression of sadness, just like smiling is a physical expression of happiness and gasping is a physical expression of being shocked or surprised, so why is it that people make such a big deal when other people cry? I especially hate it when people respond to someone crying by saying "crying won't solve the problem." Even if it doesn't solve the problem, isn't it better to let someone express and possible purge themselves of the emotion that's giving them so much stress? Or should we just bottle up all our feelings like a soulless society that just acts happy all the time? We're human beings; we experience a great range of emotions on a day to day basis, so isn't it better to express them so that we can be more open with each other as individuals? Or have we just separated so much from each other that we're just robots expected to keep happy facades all the time and never tell anyone else what's on our minds? But then at the same time, when my friends and I are watching a sad movie or a movie with a sad part and someone doesn't cry, someone else usually responds with "YOU HAVE NO SOUL!" or something along the lines of that; why is it that people are expected to cry in response to things that happen to FICTIONAL CHARACTERS and not events that happen in real life? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Separation of church/state violation?
I was at my cross-country meet today, which was hosted by a Christian school in my area. However, not all the schools competing were necessarily Christian schools (mine definitely wasn't), but they kept playing Christian rock music as we were running, and the other girls on my team made me and another girl who happens to be an atheist huddle together in prayer with them (we didn't tell them we were atheists, but we didn't think they'd just automatically assume that we weren't). Since it's a school-sponsored event (with schools that aren't Christian schools), do you think this was a violation of separation of church and state? I mean, I wasn't
How has social media gotten so stupid?
You thought the cinnamon challenge was a really freaking stupid idea? "Well, it's not like the risks involved with it are that high," you say. "It's harmless fun."
Then the cold water challenge comes along. "Well... as long as they get right out of the water afterwards, they might not be harmed by it," you say, forcing a laugh. "Kids nowadays..."
And then, we have something so unfathomably stupid and dangerous, that we wonder why we didn't stop this chain reaction of stupidity that led to even greater stupidity in the first place. What am I referring to? According to a recent news report, a teenager set himself on fire as a part of the "f
WHY.
WHY? I JUST WANT TO KNOW... WHY.
Why is the U.S. continuing to send weapons and ammunition and all sorts of stuff to a country that is persecuting the people of another country that were there first for the sake of their religious beliefs? What happened to the separation of church and state? Does that mean anything in this country anymore? The literal reason why the war between Israel and Palestine is happening is because the Israelis, a group of religious, self-righteous assholes think that Israel is their promised land from their God, and that's their excuse to drive the Palestinians out, killing millions of innocent people (including chil
Re: Prayer Doesn't Heal the Sick. Medicine Does.
So, a couple days ago, I made a journal expressing how I feel about people believing that prayer heals the sick and don't attribute anything to medicine or doctors. I'm bringing this journal up again because of a conversation that I had with my mom. We were talking about how some people refuse to get vaccinations, and, in passing, I made the remark: "Yeah. It's just as crazy as the people who refuse to get medical help for a disease because they think that prayer alone will help them." Now, thankfully, my mom agreed that people need to get medical help in order to stay alive and well, but she also said, "I believe that God gave doctors the kn

I (most of the time) feel better after I get some of it out by crying. I don't tend to cry in front of people and am generally a happy, positive person by nature, but when I do cry it's because I bottled my emotions up too much. The last time I cried it was because someone very important to me died and I cried alone in my dorm room. Like I said, I personally don't like to cry in front of people, but for me it just happens sometimes. Crying once in a while shows you are emotionally healthy; it's part of the human experience. I personally do not have much faith in humanity these days and just screw society. I don't care what society says, I am my own person and will remain so til the day I die. And if society says otherwise, I just say "screw you guys, I'm going home."
